Meet Sara
“I grew up in a house with four sisters - three older and one younger. We were all very close, still are. And we were sharing clothes from the beginning. At one time, we had a closet in a spare bedroom that was just for formal dresses. It was like a Rent the Runway before its time.”
A little bit about me…
For as long as I can remember, I have been obsessed with clothes and fashion. Growing up in a house with 4 sisters, clothes were everywhere. We shared clothes, fought over clothes, all the things. A lot of hand-me-downs, but I found a way to make them mine. In fact, our mother worked part-time at the Gap simply for the discount. After graduating from the University of Florida with a magazine journalism degree, I moved to New York City with high hopes of working for Vogue or Harper’s Bazaar, but as my luck would have it, I ended up working in live television. On the day of my Vogue interview, I crossed paths with a certain someone from The Today Show while hiding from the cold weather in the Rockefeller Center lobby and was offered a job. (No funny business, I was a nice girl from the South.) After an internship in the NBC Page Program, I landed a job working for The Rosie O’Donnell Show and Saturday Night Live. I chose to walk the 50 blocks home from work each day, taking mental notes on the fashion that was everywhere. I loved being behind the scenes, observing the details that went into dressing our guests for each live show. I have always said, Keri Russell was the most beautiful human I had ever seen - her clothes, her skin, that hair! And I’ll never forget meeting Gwyneth for the first time. She is as stunning today as she was then.
Fast forward more than 20 years, I have been a stay-at-home-mom living in Vero Beach with three kiddos. My SallyJane just turned 20, Caroline 18, and Walter is my baby - 16. I really did meet my husband in preschool and we have been married for more than 20 years. I have always loved helping sisters and friends with fashion advice, and there’s really nothing more fun to me than getting together with a girlfriend to edit a closet - usually with a glass of red wine in hand. It can be a little overwhelming to purge your own closet and a second set of eyes usually does the trick. This space is a place where I can be creative and share, hopefully without judgment. I’ve always been pretty shy and a bit guilty of imposter syndrome, so I hesitated for more than a decade on this. It’s never too late! Please enjoy my finds and reach out if you are interested in giving your wardrobe a refresh, need help packing for an upcoming trip or weekend or simply want to change up your weekly uniform. I’m your girl.❤️
